Part three of our Essential Car Accessories guide looks at a few more advanced car modifications and car styling parts. More advanced car accessories usually have rather a dramatic effect on the car, either in terms of styling or performance, but are often a bit more complicated to install.

If you have been following our car accessories guide, you will have already done lots to your modified car and will have lots of basic and mid-range car accessories installed. It is now time to take a step up and look at some more advanced car accessories and car tuning parts.

Installing an induction kit should make sure you get a little extra power from the engine as well as give your car that great induction sports sound. There are many different types of air filter and induction kit available and your choice will probably depend on your budget. K&N induction kits and replacement panel filters will give better performance increases than universal induction kits, but they cost much more. Universal induction kits are also often much easier to install. There are a few different styles available but all will make the car engine much more visually appealing. Although you probably won’t see massive power increases with a universal induction kit, your car will sound much better and much more powerful.

Performance car gauges are brilliant car accessories as they provide very useful information about the state of the engine whilst having a positive visual effect on the car interior. Car Gauges come in all different sizes and styles but most have a face diameter of 52mm (Approximately 2”). This makes it very easy to install performance gauges anywhere on or in your dashboard. 52mm gauge pods also make it easy to mount and enclose the car gauges on top of the dashboard, or even on the A-pillar.

Most car gauges have very stylish dial faces and are illuminated. This makes them look fantastic in the interior of any modified car during the day as well as the night.

After you have installed some nice 52mm car gauges, you may also want to change the colour of your existing car dials and gauges to match. Lockwood dial kits allow you to change the colour of the car dials without much effort. The car dial kits replace the standard dial faces but use the existing needles, illumination and actual gauges.

Lockwood dial kits are all manufactured to very high standards and are all UK road legal. A choice of dial face colour is usually available and a choice of illumination colour is available with some items. Installing a new Lockwood dial kit will instantly modernise any car interior and will allow you to achieve the look you are going for.

A new sports steering wheel will transform your car interior like no other car styling product. The first thing you see when you look into a car is the steering wheel so this crucial car part should at least look great. Another advantage of installing a car steering wheel is that it often makes the car feel much sportier to drive. Most aftermarket steering wheels are smaller in diameter than standard steering wheels and therefore the steering can often feel much more direct. Although you will also need a hub kit to install an aftermarket steering wheel, this car modification is well worth the effort.
