After following part one of our essential car accessories guide (Basic Car Accessories), your car is looking really good and it has all the essential items needed to make it in the car tuning world. It is now time to start looking at more advanced car accessories and car tuning parts.

The car part to start with has to be a new leather or aluminium car gear shift knob. Installing a new gear knob will greatly improve the look of the car interior as well as give the car a much sportier feel when driving. Aftermarket gear knobs are generally smaller than standard gear knobs and make it much easier and more comfortable to change gear. Gear knobs come in all shapes, sizes and colours and therefore there is sure to be at least one car gear knob to suit any car interior. Whether you prefer aluminium gear knobs, leather gear knobs, or wooden gear knobs, you will be able to find one you really like.

A car part that compliments a nice new gear knob in any modified car is an aftermarket handbrake handle. This is the type of car accessory that many people overlook at their peril. The handbrake handle sits right in the middle of the car interior so it should look good. A standard handbrake handle in a modified car interior will stick our like a soar thumb. A release button and gaiter retaining ring is included with most handbrake handles, which means they can be installed to perfection.

Let us now move onto the car exterior. Everybody else can see the car exterior whilst you are driving it so let’s give them something to look at. The quickest and easiest way to improve the look of the car exterior is to install a sun strip. Car sunstrips are basically a piece of high quality vinyl that sticks to the top of the car windscreen. Sunstrips come in many different colours and as long as the windscreen wipers don’t go over them, they are legal.

A set of headlight brows can compliment a sun strip perfectly. Head light brows are made from ABS plastic and stick on the top of headlight, just like an eye brow. They can be painted any colour you like and are a great alternative to buying a bad-boy bonnet, which can cost a fortune to paint and fit.

Many people like to replace the chrome badges, which are usually on the boot-lid. Standard badges can sometimes look old and tired and replacing them demonstrates great attention to detail. Our 16V chrome badges are very popular as they look much better than standard 16 valve car badges. Your car exterior should be looking great now and you are bound to be noticed.

Replacing the car door lock pins can look great from the car interior as well as car exterior. Door pins are the small parts in the car doors that move up and down as the car is locked and unlocked. Door pins are usually made from black plastic and look dull and boring. Alloy door pins simply sit in place of the standard ones and work just as well.

The pedals in a car are obviously hugely important but often get overlooked in modified cars. You use them as often as you are in the car and they are right on show as soon as you open the driver’s door. Why settle with the boring standard pedals. Installing some new pedals or pedal pads doesn’t affect the operation of the pedals, but improves the look of the whole car interior. Most car pedals have rubber grips on, making them completely safe and road legal. New pedal pads can finish off a car interior perfectly.
